Red-shouldered Hawks Mating, Sugar Land, Texas

The indecent things you see at your local park – tsk, tsk. 😉 The male kept calling loudly to the female as he flew gallantly over the bayou- then he would return to the post to meet his lady friend.

Last year I only saw Eastern Bluebirds at the Riverpark Nature Trails. Now I am seeing them at many suburban parks around Sugar Land. Not sure if it is because their numbers are increasing or I am becoming a better birder, or both. Regardless, my heart still soars at the sight of them.
