Little Blue Heron Punk Rocker, Brazos Bend State Park

When I saw this Little Blue Heron the Rancid lyrics “Little Sammy was a punk rocker” immediately popped into my head (“The War’s End” from …And Out Came the Wolves.) This heron had the attitude and the mohawk to boot (I could picture him in huge clunky combat boots, too.) He expressed annoyance at my presence and then decided he could really care less. Very punk rock.

Birds are like people in that respect – they all have such distinct personalities. This one was original and a non-conformist. I’m thinking my Friday night soundtrack will be …And Out Come the Wolves. I’m sure if my Little Blue Heron friend enjoyed music that album would be on his playlist.
