Ruby-throated Hummingbird, My Backyard, Sugar Land, Texas

Not my best bird photo ever – this was taken inside through the window, but since Hurricane Harvey hit and the Houston floods ensued the hummingbirds have been such a joyous sight I just had to share! I had been contemplating removing this dried up, dead vine wrapped around our patio post until this Ruby-throated guy claimed it as his favorite perch! Sometimes it pays to be a lazy gardener. 😉 Happy to help feed the hummingbirds, especially considering many were likely knocked off course by the storm. Some of them have looked rather lean! They also love our red hibiscus plants and milkweed plants.
