Roseate Spoonbills, Great Egret, and White Ibis, Bayou off Highway 6, Sugar Land, Texas

As much as I love hiking and birding in beautiful locales it is equally as rewarding to observe wildlife in everyday but unexpected places. In Houston it always pays to scan bayous along the side of the road – in this case I spotted a mixed flock containing Roseate Spoonbills! One U-turn later and I was a crazy lady parading down the bayou with my camera chasing after these strange, not quite real looking birds!
