Black-throated Blue Warbler, Lafitte’s Cove, Galveston, Texas

Yes, I drove all the way from Houston to the coast to chase this one little warbler. But not just any warbler – a Black-throated Blue Warbler, one that I had never before seen, a new one for my life list! And he had other friends with him. Human friends. Apparently I am not alone in my Black-throated Blue Warbler stalking. So here he is, in all his black and blue glory. I was allotted a few mere glimpses, which were glorious in their entirety, and conditions were rainy and dark so this was the best photo I could manage. He was flitting from branch to branch catching insects and feasting on what I think were Yaupon Holly berries.
